Why we selected them
Independent makers deserve a place to be discovered.
Our 2026 Shopping & Style Editorial Pick celebrates Edge of Urge for building a retail identity around independent creativity. Jessie Williams opened the original Wilmington shop in 2002, selling handmade pieces made by herself and friends. A Raleigh location followed in 2014. We selected the business for that maker-centered history and its continuing role as a place to encounter distinctive goods and new designers.
